Phil Foden is set to renew his contract with Manchester City until 2028.

The official announcement on his contract extension is expected to be released in the next few days.

The last deal that he signed back in 2018 saw him earn £30,000-a-week.

However, according to Daily Mail, the England international will be earning £225,000 a week when his new contract comes into force.

Pep Guardiola and the club have placed their confidence in Foden, who is considered one of the most talented English players.

In 2021/22, he won Premier League Young Player of the Season award for the second time in a row after scoring nine goals and registering five assists.

He also played 11 Champions League matches, netting three and assisting another two.

Foden joined the Manchester City academy at the age of eight.

He made his official debut in a Champions League duel against Feyenoord on November 21, 2017.

On that day he became the fourth youngest English player to make his debut in Europe's major competition behind Jack Wilshere, Dominic Solanke and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

In December of that same year, Foden made his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur.
