United are on the up since their Manchester derby mauling on October 2. Erik ten Hag's men are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions and sit fifth in the Premier League table while rivals Chelsea and Liverpool have struggled. The Red Devils' last three League results have given fans a real sense of optimism: a last-gasp 1-1 draw at Chelsea felt more like a win, while home victories over Tottenham (2-0) and West Ham (1-0) stirred memories of Old Trafford as a fortress.

While there is cause for optimism, key questions remain. Is a top-four finish realistic, or is the squad still short of quality? And that brings us to the January transfer window... Cristiano Ronaldo is back after being fined and dropped after refusing to come on vs Spurs, but his future remains uncertain.
