After a nearly two-month-long saga, Xavi Simons’ (21) future is now set to be decided. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch winger will return to RB Leipzig on loan, despite strong interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
After an outstanding season in Bundesliga, where he logged 10 goals and 13 assists in 42 games across all competitions, Simons is set to return to Germany. However, despite having reportedly agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich, the Dutch international will not join Vincent Kompany's side but is set to return to RB Leipzig for another season on loan.
Fabrizio Romano reveals that the deal is set to be sealed this week, while L’Equipe adds that Bayern Munich and Manchester United could have hijacked the deal, but both parties are leaning towards a return to a club he is now familiar with. Simons has still three years on his current deal at Paris Saint-Germain, and it remains to be seen if he will ever enter into the club’s plans.
