Manchester United are confident of taking a strong squad on the Australian leg of their pre-season tour despite stringent vaccination rules remaining in place.
United are on Thursday set to announce details of their first trip in three years, which includes a meeting with Liverpool in Bangkok on July 12.
The squad, who by then will have a new manager in charge, will move on to Australia. Both Melbourne and Perth have been mooted as potential destinations for up to three friendlies.
Any travel to Australia is complicated for unvaccinated visitors, however, who require a travel exemption in order to enter the country or quarantine for 14 days.
Novak Djokovic was deported on the eve of the Australian Open in January when the country's Immigration Minister Alex Hawke cancelled the Serbian's visa during a 10-day saga ahead of the tournament.
United have insisted they are comfortable with the situation four months ahead of the tour. The vast majority of their squad are believed to be vaccinated.
Liverpool will face United at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Thailand for the Bangkok Century Cup. The pair have met in pre-season before, with the last time coming in Michigan four years ago in front of over 100,000 fans.
United are returning to the Far East region after their last tour, in 2019, took them to China, Singapore and Australia.
