A number of Manchester United fans have criticised the club for sharing a photo of Kanye West in the club's gear on Twitter.

The club shared an image of the typically straight faced Kanye West, with the caption: 'The international break has got us like...'

But fans are not happy about the social media stunt, which came after the artist made headlines for his outspoken support of US president Donald Trump.

In the photo, West is wearing a Man United tracksuit top with the initials 'WK' embroidered on one side.

A number of fans speculated that the musician got his initials the wrong way around.

The tweet sparked a number of replies from fans around the world, and the majority were not positive.

One fan joked: 'Play him as a right winger he already knows how to play that role.'

Other fans posted simple messages of 'delete' or disapproving GIFs, some of which were of Kanye West.

'Good grief, our club is so embarrassing at the moment' was the verdict of one disgruntled fan following a rocky start to the season for Jose Mourinho's men.

Another fan claimed their day 'had been ruined' by the tweet by someone else begged for the it to be taken down.

Kanye West made headlines on Thursday after a 10-minute rant in President Trump's office in which he praised the leader.

Man United are back in action next weekend when they face a trip to Stamford Bridge.
