Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is in talks over a loan move to Newcastle United.
The England international has been desperate to leave Old Trafford after months of frustration being understudy to David de Gea.
He held talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and since with interim manager Ralf Rangnick but was told that he was needed with the club still in the Champions League.
However after making it clear he wanted a chance to play, Rangnick has relented and talks are underway over a loan move for the 24-year old.
His signing will represent another coup for Newcastle following the £33m signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon.
United remain talks with Everton and Crystal Palace regarding a loan departure for Donny van de Beek and with Bordeaux over defender Phil Jones.
Rangnick could be viewed as taking a risk letting Henderson go in particular but with Tom Heaton in reserve he wants to be fair to Henderson who is eager to get his career back on track.
A move to Newcastle on loan will also kill any chance of a loan deal there for Jesse Lingard as they can't take two loans from the same Premier League club.
Rangnick has set about streamlining his bloated squad in the hope it can bring in funds and better harmony and balance. Anthony Martial has left for Sevilla, Amad Diallo has joined Rangers but Lingard will remain a frustrated figure if he can't find an exit over the next 24 hours.
