Manchester United have decided not to sell striker Anthony Martial this summer.
Martial, 26, has scored three goals in three games on United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia but club sources said manager Erik ten Hag decided to keep Martial before United flew to Bangkok.
Figures at United had expected Martial to be among the club's outgoings after two poor seasons but there has not been a market for the France international.
Martial joined Sevilla on loan in January but only scored once and he is contracted to United until 2024, with the option of an additional year.
Ten Hag started Martial in the wins over Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace and the Frenchman is poised to start the season against Brighton on August 7.
Cristiano Ronaldo's absence from United's pre-season schedule due to a family issue has forced Ten Hag to turn to Martial, who has scored eight United goals in the last two seasons.s
Ronaldo's situation has not changed and as he has not trained with his teammates Ten Hag is preparing to start Martial when the new season commences.
When asked about Martial in Melbourne, Ten Hag said: "I'm sure he can come back even better. I think when he has the right focus and the right motivation and he works hard he will have production because he is a good player.
"I say when he has the right focus and every day delivers much then he will have production and it's up to him."
United signed Martial from Monaco in a £58million deal in 2015 and he has scored 79 goals in 269 appearances.
