The fight for this season's top four is heating up with Manchester United in the mix against Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham.
Ralf Rangnick's side claimed three points against Brentford on Wednesday night in a 3-1 win to position themselves in seventh with 35 points.
The Gunners are also on 35 having played one game fewer and Spurs have 36 points but crucially, two games in hand over the Old Trafford club.
After the win against Brentford, Rio Ferdinand and Steve Sidwell spoke about the importance of finishing in the top four for United this season.
The former United defender told BT Sport: 'They need results and top four is the goal now.
'But Spurs are a win or two with their games in hand from being in a very strong position with the Antonio Conte bounce.'
Tottenham came back to beat the Foxes deep into injury time on Wednesday evening with two Steven Bergwijn goals giving them a morale-boosting victory.
Sidwell added: 'Top four is an absolute must for United this season, they can't go from second to not getting in the Champions League. With a new manager coming in, it is huge.'
Ferdinand believes it should not be a problem for United, given that the teams around them are bound to drop points along the way.
'United are there for the top four, they've got a good run of games, they have to take points off teams around them as well', he continued.
'Who out of the team around them are ultra used to winning? Not many other than Man City.
'The saving grace is that nobody in the group under City and Liverpool can win 5-10 on the bounce, that will ebb and flow to the end of the season.'
