On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain confirmed the nomination of Victoriano Melero as CEO. He replaces Jean-Claude Blanc, who left to join INEOS last year. Blanc, now a member of the hierarchy at Manchester United following INEOS’ purchase of a minority share in the Premier League club, is now set to be re-united with a former PSG colleague.
Since Blanc’s departure from PSG, Melero, who arrived at the club back in 2017, has been the interim CEO, sharing his functions with Marc Armstrong. Les Parisiens’ chief revenue officer. According to a report from L’Équipe, Armstrong wished to return to England for “several reasons” and his move to Manchester United, initially touted back in early September, is expected to be completed, although no timeline has been provided for his arrival at Old Trafford.
Armstrong will therefore link up once again with Blanc, the CEO of INEOS Sport, an umbrella under which Ligue 1 side OGC Nice also fall.
