Marcus Thuram on Barcelona radar

Marcus Thuram, son of French World Cup winner Lillian Thuram, is an increasingly sought after player in the transfer market, with Barcelona the latest team to be linked with a move for the 23-year-old.

So fat this season, Marcus has scored three goals, plus adding five assists, in the 10 games he has played between the Bundesliga, Champions League DFB-Pokal, thus attracting the interest of many of Europe's giants.

According to Bild, Barcelona are monitoring the player who is valued at 30 million euros, and could have an advantage over other teams - Real Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus - given his father used to play his trade at the Camp Nou, though Lillian also played for the Bianconeri during his time in Italy.

Marcus Thuram shone in Borussia Monchengladbach's Champions League duel with Real Madrid this season, scoring two goals for the Bundesliga side in a match that ended 2-2. Not only that, the youngster impressed with his pace and power, as well as a fearsome shot.

"[Thierry] Henry had the timing of the smartest footballers," legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told Der Spiegel recently. "He was also very strong physically. And technically he could do everything.

"In fact, there is a player in the Bundesliga who reminds me of him... Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach."

Thuram Jr's form has been so impressive of late that Didier Deschamps has called him to the French national team for the November international games.
