Dele Alli and Mateo Kovacic clashed as tensions rose in the first half of Chelsea‘s trip to Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea led 2-0 at half-time thanks to two goals from Willian, the second of which came from the penalty spot after Paulo Gazzaniga’s calamitous foul on Marcos Alonso.
Much of the build-up to the game focussed on Spurs boss Jose Mourinho’s close relationship with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, but the rivalry between the two London clubs remained evident on the pitch.
Admittedly this was no Battle of the Bridge, but Alli and Kovacic showed there is still bad blood between the two teams.
