Manchester United star Nemanja Matic has been keeping a close eye on his son's progression within football.

On Tuesday evening, Matic posted a video on his Instagram story of his son, Filip, performing keepy-ups in their back garden while wearing the full United kit and his father's No 31 shirt.

And Filip appears to have some promising skills up his sleeves as he looks to plot out a successful career path just like his father.

After flicking the ball up into the air, the seven-year-old managed six successful keepy-ups before booting the ball away in the garden.

Filip seems to have adopted his father's Premier League team since his £40million move from Chelsea in 2017 and is currently training with United's academy side.

Matic is currently enjoying some quality downtime with his family after withdrawing from the Serbia squad for their recent UEFA Nations League clashes with Montenegro and Romania.

The 30-year-old midfielder is attempting to recover from an unspecified injury in time for United's crunch Premier League encounter with his former club Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Matic and his United team-mates have endured a tough start to the 2018-19 season, with Jose Mourinho's side sitting eighth in the Premier League after as many games.

They have already been defeated three times this season and Mourinho will be desperate to avoid another loss against his former side on the weekend.
