Valencia will be without Maxi Gomez for their Champions League Round of 16 with Atalanta, as he fractured a bone in his foot.
The striker had started in the 4-1 first leg Atalanta win at San Siro on February 19.
A statement from the Spanish club this afternoon confirmed Maxi Gomez has been diagnosed with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
The injury occurred during Saturday’s La Liga match against Real Betis and he will have surgery on Tuesday.
Atalanta play the second leg of their Champions League tie at the Mestalla on March 10.
