Real Madrid surrendered their lead at the top of LaLiga Santander, one week after reclaiming it in the Clasico as they went down at Real Betis.
Gerard Pique didn't speak particularly highly of Los Blancos' first-half performance at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and maybe he wasn't too far off track.
Real Madrid were far from their best in another inconsistent display where they created very few chances.
Zinedine Zidane mixed his team up, but Lucas Vazquez and Eder Militao didn't back up their coach's decisions to start them.
It wasn't a good idea to leave Fede Valverde on the bench either.
Karim Benzema was at fault for Cristian Tello's winner, selling Sergio Ramos short in midfield as Betis stole away to score past Thibaut Courtois.
The hosts' performance was full of energy, in contrast to their opponents.
Like against Manchester City and Barcelona, Courtois came to Real Madrid's rescue on more than one occasion.
He produced a key save to keep out Nabil Fekir in the first half.
Joaquin had the goal at his mercy when he rounded Courtois in the second half, but the Betis captain decided to try and find Loren Moron and Luka Modric cut the pass out.
Life has changed for Mariano Diaz.
His goal in the Clasico has pushed him up the pecking order at Real Madrid.
Zidane turned to him before Gareth Bale and Rodrygo Goes from the bench.
However, he wasn't able to reproduce his heroics from last weekend.
Sidnei surprised everyone with a bullet of a strike to give Betis the lead, powering the ball past Courtois at his near post.
Just moments later, he went from hero to zero, giving away a penalty for a foul on Marcelo to give Benzema the chance to equalise.
Just as Marcelo looked to have won the trust of Zidane again, he was forced off with injury, leaving Ferland Mendy to take his place again.
Andres Guardado was the victim of a Nigel de Jong-style challenge - from his own teammate!
Loren's studs connected with the Mexican's chest in the first half, but he was able to continue and finish the game.

Here is my point also. this is the worst Barcelona I have ever seen, If Madrid doesn't win this league they will not win any league soon.

Real Madrid have not been playing well lately and I personally really doubt the ability to win any trophy this year. Blame for this should go to Perez and zidane. Both of them refused to sign quality players to replace Ronaldo. Agreed Hazard was brought nevertheless in comparison some time Ronaldo too do have injury yet their standard was never poor as the present situations. jovic is not a word class player fit enough to play for Real Madrid. Should zidane go ? This is a big question.

The reason why Madrid is still in contention for the league is because Barcelona is having a bad season. We all know if Barcelona are playing at their peak Madrid would have been 20 point behind😂
