Kylian Mbappe has been named France captain after being chosen by Les Blues manager, Didier Deschamps.
Didier Deschamps, manager of Les Blues, chose Kylian Mbappe to be the captain of France.
Hugo Lloris of Tottenham, who captained France in the World Cup final loss to Argentina in December, announced his retirement from international play in January, leaving France without a captain at the moment.
According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, Deschamps has chosen Mbappe to assume the enormous duty after carefully weighing the nation's remaining players.
Before the next Euro 2024 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Ireland, Mbappe met up with his France teammates at their headquarters in Clairefontaine on Sunday.
After helping France win the 2018 World Cup and coming close to adding a second world championship in Qatar the previous year, the 24-year-old has solidified his position as one of the top players in football in the world.
Mbappe would become one of the youngest captains in Europe, joining Martin Odegaard of Norway, who is 24 years old.
The prolific striker has 66 appearances for his country and 36 goals in all. He has also been awarded France's greatest player four times.

Mbappe reminds me of school times when teachers used to choose bright students to be class leaders leaving out who knew much about the class and school
