Kylian Mbappe is staying grounded despite his mega move to Real Madrid after he was seen gifting his shirt to a ballboy while being subbed off.
The Frenchman made the move of the summer by heading to the Spanish capital after letting his contract at PSG wind down. The 25-year-old put pen to paper on a deal until 2029, joining the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. in Madrid.
Despite being one of the biggest players in world football – and now starring for the Champions League holders – Mbappe his kind-hearted side after being substituted during his latest appearance.
Before his side's 2-0 victory over Sociedad on Saturday, in which the forward netted a decisive second goal, Mbappe was spotted talking to a ball boy before kick-off - who it is assumed asked for his shirt. When he was taken off late into the fixture, he didn't throw a strop like so many of his contemporaries like to do.
Instead, he made time for the youngster, who came over to him on the bench and asked for his shirt. Mbappe duly obliged, leaving the ballboy euphoric as he ran off with a beaming smile, clutching the prized jersey in his hands.
Mbappe's goals helped Madrid to a 2-0 victory as they maintained their unbeaten start to the season. They are now third and four points adrift of Barcelona, who remain faultless with five wins from five.
However, Mbappe's own time in Madrid has started rockily. The French star was criticised after a 1-1 draw with RCD Mallorca at the start of the season, which followed his goal against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup.
He also failed to score against Real Valladolid and Las Palmas before registering a quickfire double against Real Betis to get back on track, seemingly rediscovering the form that sees him as one of the game's most feared marksmen.
His goal against Sociedad made it three strikes in two matches, and he'll now be looking to carry on his rich vein of form as the new Champions League season begins. Whatever happens, it is already apparent that Mbappe isn't letting success go to his head.
