Former Manchester United flop Memphis Depay has denied taking a pop at controversial Old Trafford owners the Glazer family in his latest rap song.
The Dutchman spent two difficult years at United, before going on to revitalise his career at Lyon in 2017, and he is now also enjoying a music career off the field.
Depay released a new track, titled Big Fish, this week, in which he raps: 'I be planning to make some statements, I need money like the Glazers.'
United fans were quick to pick up on the 26-year-old's cheeky lyrics, with one fan writing: 'He's making a jab at our owners.'
Another social media post backed Depay in his supposed jibe at United's controversial chiefs, writing: 'Yes Memphis lad once a red always a red. Glazers we are coming.'
Depay, though, was quick to deny any speculation that he was speaking negatively about his former bosses.
In response to one tweet about the song, he insisted: 'That's no shot! that's ambition... TF at least mine ambition.'
Since leaving Old Trafford, Depay has received plenty of criticism for his poor performances, which saw him score just twice in 33 league games despite United shelling out £25million for him.
United made a loss on him when selling him to Lyon two years after buying him, and the club have since watched him shine for his current club.
Off the pitch, Depay regularly releases music for his large online audience, and is now three years into his music career.

Why is it that everytime media mentions Depay, they add 'Former ManUtd Flop'? He has his own identity. He has done reasonably well in his career. He has carved his own name, they why slender him everytime? That's so poor. 😑😑
