Messi = success! Cirque du Soleil show inspired by him has exceeded 100k viewers

The Cirque du Soleil show inspired by the Argentinian has already exceeded 100,000 spectators.

There are about 50 artists of an extraordinary level behind the show, which will stay in Barcelona until January 4 before traveling to Doha in March.

In the summer it'll be seen in Buenos Aires and then it's set to go on a world tour.

One of the children's favourite parts of the show is the artist who plays the referee, Mateo Amieba.

"All ages can feel good and enjoy themselves," Amieba said.

Charity gala

Chilean freestyler Catalina Vega is one of the most applauded in the show.

"We're a family here," Vega said. "I've wanted to dedicate myself to this [freestyling] since I was 15. It's my passion."

Celebrating Messi's sixth Ballon d'Or, 10 percent of the box office from a specific show will be dedicated to the Sant Joan de Deu Hospital in support of the SJD Pediatric Cancer Centre in Barcelona.
