It has been a difficult week in football, following the disappearance of a plane carrying Argentine footballer Emiliano Sala.
Lionel Messi has become the latest footballer to publicly request that the search for him is not abandoned.
Despite experts suggesting that it is unlikely for the plane or people to be found at this point, Messi showed his support for his fellow countryman on social media in an Instagram story.
"As long as there are possibilities, a thread of hope, we ask you to please don't stop looking for Emiliano," Messi's message read.
"All my strength and support to his family and friends."
