Lionel Messi's move to Paris Saint-Germain not only has an impact football-wise but also on a commercial level, which should be good news for NBA legend Michael Jordan.

The former Chicago Bulls player saw his fortune take a significant hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Messi's arrival at PSG could allow him to recoup some of the money he lost.

In fact, Forbes magazine showed that Jordan lost around 24 percent of his money during the pandemic, with his net worth going from 2.1 billion dollars to 1.6 billion dollars.

How does Messi's signing affect Michael Jordan?

Messi is one of the most well-known athletes around the world and fans are always desperate to get their hands on one on his shirts, and at PSG their shirt make is Nike's Jordan brand.

The Jordan brand has been the make of PSG's kits since the 2019/20 season, while Michael Jordan receives a five percent profit for each jersey sold.

Now, with Messi having joined PSG, it is expected that around 2.5 million shirts featuring the Argentine's name on the back are expected to be sold this season, which should earn the American a fair chunk of money.

So far, PSG have earned around 120 million euros since Messi's shirt went on sale, which would earn Jordan six million euros in a single weekend. As the days go by, this figure will only increase.
