Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has admitted he 'feels sorry' for Marcus Rashford at Manchester United, claiming he'd score 20-30 goals a season with Pep Guardiola's side.
The England international has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, putting him behind only Raheem Sterling in the scoring charts for Premier League players, but has suffered from a lack of service.
Rashford's latest effort came in the second-half of the 3-1 defeat to City in the Carabao Cup semi-final at Old Trafford, providing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side with a glimmer of hope ahead of the second-leg in three weeks time.
While Rashford is currently enjoying his best-ever scoring season with United, Richards believes his tally in front of goal would be significantly higher if he plied his trade on the other side of Manchester.
"I feel a little bit for Rashford. If Rashford was in Manchester City's team, he would get 30, 40 goals a season," Richards told Sky Sports after the full-time whistle.
"Obviously on the counter-attack when you've got Martial, Lingard, James, they look good.
"Sometimes, the counter-attack isn't on. You've got to be able to pick through teams. You look at City's midfield compared to United's and that's no disrespect to them. De Bruyne first thought is 'let's play a forward pass'.
"When I see United play, it's all just a little bit too safe. 'I don't want to be the one to make a mistake today so I'll just play a simple pass'. You look at City's midfield, first option 'let's play forward'."
