Championship Middlesbrough are through to the quarter finals of the FA Cup after defeating Premier League giants Tottenham in extra time (1-0).
It was a tense affair with very few clear chances for either side early on.
Matt Doherty had arguably the best chance of the first half as Harry Kane's through ball enticed Joe Lumley off his line, with the Irishman beating the goalkeeper to the ball but then blazing the ball over the bar.
In the second period, Spurs began to dominate and thought they had taken the lead when Kane diverted the ball into the net from a corner, but the England captain was offside.
Kane was then played through in the closing stages of the 90 but Lumley spread himself well to deny him
Isaiah Jones then had a good chance for the hosts three minutes from the end of normal time, but Hugo Lloris denied him. The resulting corner then saw Jonny Howson unmarked yet he was unable to head on target.
It was only in the 109th minute when the breakthrough arrived when Joshua Coburn, introduced as a substitute just seconds before, blasted the ball beyond Lloris to provide a memorable win for his side.

It"s about time Levy got his hand in the pocket, does he not realise we as fans have had enough of this shambles it's because we are reaping what Levy for years has sown. The squad is simply not good enough. Give Conte some money NOW to spend on his choices before you lose him! You have lost me now and I used to be the staunchest Spurs supporter just ask my friends those who are still talking. If I have given up on them does Levy understand there will surely be 100's more. His tenure of chairman has cost this once significant football club greatly to the point we are a laughing stock.Piss off Levy and never darken the door of your selfish endeavour "The Tottenham Stadium" again😥

as a tottenham fan, I am not happy with the result but at the same time I am glad to see this. this team is tarnishing the name of great manager, a team that's allergic to beat small teams but can draw with great Liverpool and defeat King City home and away. I hope they realised that they have a lot of championship players. they need to spend more than what they can imagine. to say this was great is because once they win a single match they get deceived and give chances to those terrible players to renew their contracts. Well done MDB
