Middlesbrough are trying to sign Everton forward Yannick Bolasie on loan.
The 31-year old played for Neil Warnock at Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are eager to secure a deal before Friday's 5pm deadline.
Bolasie's Everton contract runs until the summer of 2021, but he hasn't played for the Toffees since 2018.
The DR Congo international has been sent on loan three times in recent seasons, spending time with Aston Villa, Anderlecht and Sporting Lisbon.
Bolasie played for Palace between 2012 and 2016, with Warnock taking charge of the club for the second time in 2014.
So far Middlesbrough have brought in Chuba Akpom, Sam Morsy and Grant Hall on permanent deals, while Marcus Bettinelli and Patrick Roberts joined on loan from Fulham and Manchester City respectively.
Bolasie, who is eager to play regularly, could be the latest temporary arrival at the Riverside Stadium.
Middlesbrough, who are tenth in the Championship, host Reading on Saturday.
