Mike Dean appears to say 'who the f*** is that?' after handshake in Spurs game

Tottenham suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Southampton this Wednesday, however, one of the highlights of the encounter came before a ball was even kicked.

That’s because referee Dean was at the centre of yet another viral video shortly before the match got underway.

The man in charge was positioned in the middle of the turf with his linesman and Kane ahead of the coin toss.

The Spurs captain then shook hands with a man wearing a smart, grey overcoat before the latter went on to greet Dean.

The referee shook his hand before appearing to say to one of his assistant referees “who the f*** is that?” as the man walked off.

That video joins a long list of unintentional viral content produced by the referee.

Remember when he hid the ball from Sergio Aguero after the striker bagged a hat-trick?

Or maybe when he swapped the pitch for the terrace at the end of last season, passionately celebrating Tranmere Rovers’ play-off semi-final victory away at Forest Green Rovers?

It’s not the first time Spurs have been involved in a Dean classic either after another viral video appeared to show the referee ‘celebrating’ Moussa Dembele’s goal against Aston Villa in 2015.

He may get criticised for some of the decisions he makes but the footballing world wouldn’t be the same without Dean in it, that’s for sure.
