Mikel Arteta insists that Arsenal should take confidence from their winning run and has talked up the fact they remain in contention for four trophies this season
Mikel Arteta claims Arsenal's consistency should leave them "very convinced" that they can fight on all four fronts with the Gunners seeking to end their trophy drought in emphatic fashion.
The club are without any silverware since 2020 but remain well set to land multiple honours this season. The north Londoners put themselves in pole position to make the Carabao Cup final with a win over Chelsea in midweek, taking a 3-2 lead back to the Emirates for the second-leg.
They also made light work of Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup and are top of both the Premier League and the Champions League. Arsenal have won eight of their last ten games and Arteta believes their results should leave them believing in what they can achieve.
He said: "Well, I think we are building very good momentum and belief comes from performances and the level of consistency that we have shown throughout 32 games already this season and what we did yesterday at Stamford Bridge.
"It should help us to be very convinced that we have the ability to do that, but the reality is that you have to show it in every game and there's still so much to happen, but we are glad that we are still alive in the four competitions."
No English team has ever done the quadruple with only two ever managing the treble. Arsenal have looked relentless for much of the season, marking themselves out as one of Europe's most impressive outfits. Domestically they have always enjoyed a buffer at the summit.
Currently they're six points clear of Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola's side will play before Arsenal on the Sunday. They head to Manchester United but are firm favourites, which could see them close to within three points of the leaders, not that it concerns Arteta.
He said: "Every season is normally the same, as we said, we don't normally play at the same time, only probably in the Champions League, which happens more often, but that's why more than ever, just focus on what you have to do, the task ahead, and that's it."
Arsenal head to Nottingham Forest, where Arteta has only won once in four visits, on Sunday. Despite their lowly league position the Spaniard knows they'll face a tough assignment.
He said: "Well, winning away from the Premier League is extremely tough and they are a team that they have built over the last few years, and they've done a lot of things right to build a really good team and I've shown they are different, very, very efficient in what they do, very clear identity and that's what makes them very dangerous."

It's never ends! First the talk was about winning the league way back in Oct, Nov. Now the talk is winning the quadruple! Anything to derail Arsenal's season! COYG!

We need a natural L/W.player with the ability to create and convert. Someone like Saka does on our right side.Rodrygo could be a good fit, if he can adapt to the premier league, but there are quite a few out there. Maybe another No6 who can play as an 8 would be helpful also.
I totally agree with you..including Right back...skelly is a mess on dt number his form is totally down

Sir Arteta it is good to rotate players, but Skelly makes the team vulnerable..they young man is so confused with a ball, he can't ran either, am worried with speed and physicality of FOREST PLAYERS on Right back.....we need 3 points today but ..with skelly..I doubt

Lewis on the left back has become a liability..shift him to his preferred midfield position to allow rotation and rest of players.
I agree, his defending has deteriorated this season and his distribution as been poor. Playing has a midfielder hopefully could re-ignite his game.
