Latest Arsenal transfer news and gossip as the Gunners prepare to take on Inter Milan at the San Siro in the Champions League tonight

Arsenal return to action tonight when they take on Inter Milan in the Champions League. Inter brought the Gunners' unbeaten run in Europe to an end when the two teams met in the league stage last season, with Hakan Calhanoglu scoring what proved to be the winner from the penalty spot.

But Mikel Arteta’s side arrive in Milan top of the Premier League table, having won every game they have played in the Champions League so far this season. But when it comes to transfers, having splashed out approximately £250million in the summer, Arsenal are not anticipated to be particularly active this month.

However, the rumour mill is buzzing with speculation about potential incomings and outgoings at the Emirates Stadium. With that in mind, we have rounded up the latest Arsenal news and transfer gossip.

Gabriel Jesus sends contract message to Mikel Arteta

Gabriel Jesus has told Arsenal to offer him a new deal so he can fulfil his dream of winning multiple trophies at the club. Jesus signed for Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, but his contract is due to expire next summer.

Jesus, who spent 11 months out following surgery on a ruptured cruciate ligament, could be handed his first Champions League start since December 2024 against Inter tonight. And while he admitted that he is yet to open talks over a new deal, he is desperate to remain at the club.

He said: “My first target is to be healthy from now until the end of the season, and then, like I said before, my wish is to stay at Arsenal.

“I want to extend my contract, I want to stay, I want to win trophies with Arsenal because I came here with that purpose and that’s it.

“But obviously the reality is different sometimes. Sometimes it’s to go another way, but my focus is staying healthy and winning trophies with Arsenal.”

Arsenal have ‘genuine interest’ in Federico Dimarco

According to a report from Italy, Arsenal have a ‘genuine interest’ in signing Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco. Italian publication Tuttosport is reporting that Dimarco’s contract situation is likely to be behind Arsenal’s attention being caught.

The full-back’s current deal expires in June next year. However, the report claims that the Nerazzurri are planning talks as early as February to commit him to new terms.

The report also goes on to state that Manchester United tried to sign Dimarco during Ruben Amorim’s time in charge of the club. Left-back is an area of the pitch that Mikel Arteta could look to strengthen during the summer.

Riccardo Calafiori, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Jurrien Timber have also started in the position for the Gunners during the campaign. While Ajax are in talks with Arsenal over a loan move for Oleksandr Zinchenko.
