AC Milan have submitted their first offer to Benfica in the hopes of beating the competition to midfielder Florentino Luis, a report claims.
His agent Bruno Carvalho Santos was spotted at Casa Milan on Wednesday afternoon for a market meeting with the Rossoneri hierarchy, and journalist Gianluigi Longari claimed that Milan have enquired about signing Florentino Luis.
Calciomercato.com's Daniele Longo then confirmed that Milan are indeed keen on signing the youngster and are formulating an offer of an 18-month loan with option to buy.
However, he also stated that Florentino has a €120m release clause, plus there is competition from Manchester United and Serie A rivals Roma, but the player himself would rather stay at Benfica.
According to the latest from Portuguese outlet Renoscenca, Milan have made an offer similar to what saw Gedson Fernandes join Tottenham: an 18-month loan with a purchase option set at €50m.
The report hints that due to the fact Florentino has struggled for playing time recently he may be allowed to leave despite having a €120m release clause.
