Mohamed Salah's strike against Everton in last season's Merseyside derby won the FIFA Puskas Award, which came as a shock to James Milner.

James Milner poked fun at Mohamed Salah's triumph at the FIFA Best awards, with the Liverpool forward's fine strike against Everton having won the prize for best goal.
Salah's curling effort from December 2017 beat competition from Cristiano Ronaldo's overhead kick against Juventus, and Gareth Bale's acrobatic stunner against Liverpool in the Champions League final to win the Puskas Award at Monday's ceremony in London.
The Egypt forward netted a remarkable 44 goals across all competitions in 2017-18, and Liverpool team-mate Milner was quick to point out that the strike in the Merseyside derby was perhaps not Salah's finest of the campaign.
"Congrats Mohamed Salah on your seventh best goal from last season winning goal of the year #baller #topbin #oneofmanyworldies," Milner tweeted.
While scooping one gong, Salah missed out on the Best Player award, which went to Real Madrid's Luka Modric, while the Egyptian was not included in the FIFPro World XI.

stop being haters, we've been seen a lot of acrobatics goals, like Bele and Ronaldo, Salah's goal wasn't the best but the way he took the ball for a defender and manage to curve it. it was amazing. the is a lot of acrobatic goals in Asia south America and some league in Africa. Just Stop crying like a little baby. No Ronaldo, No Messi now everyone is crying like a baby...

Mr Liverpool, why can't you say the truth at least for once. Milner who played with Salah and saw all his goal first hand have told you that his 7th best goal won the award meaning that Strike against Everton which did not even win the goal of the Month for December wasn't the best goal cos Salah scored more beautiful goals than that. don't forget Zlantan over head kick won the Puska award. See this year award was based on compensation not on Merit. Modric who did not win La Lga midfielder of the season won by Casimiro, wasn't in the La Liga team of the season a league that lasted for 6 months and 38 matches were played won the award because 7 matches In the World Cup and for the fact FiFA ARE TIRED OF MESSI AND RONALDO. Salah who came third in the World best player award, mark the word "WORLD" was not included in the World best 11 players, how was that possible?. if the no three best player in the World did not make the team of best 11 players that means he deserved not to be the number 3 in the world. if Salah was number three for scoring 32 goals with 10 assists and 44 goals in all competition and helped Liverpool win ZERO trophy then why was Messi who scored 34 goals, 12 assists and 45 goals in all competition was not included, if Modric won the world best for coming second at the World Cup then Griezmann or Mbappe or Varane or Kante should have won the world best for winning the trophy. Remember what happened in 2010. the winner of the world cup and the runners up Iniesta and Sneijder did not win the award.
