James Milner has explained the reasons behind his walking stick celebration against Cardiff on Sunday, saying it was a response to Virgil van Dijk's non-stop comments about his age.
Milner netted the second goal of his side's 2-0 victory from the penalty spot after Georginio Wijnaldum had broken the deadlock.
And the Englishman proceeded to show off his acting skills as he pretended to walk with a walking stick in celebration.
βVirg (Van Dijk) gives me plenty of stick about being old so it was just one for him really. We just need to concentrate on our side and all we can do is keep the pressure on and win our games and it makes it tough.
'If we slip it gives them (Manchester City) a little cushion. All we can do is win the last of our games. We are asking all the questions of them that we can.
'Both teams have been pretty ruthless and clinical. It's not easy week-on-week. We've lost one game all year and we were second. We go back top now and it puts a bit of pressure on them. β

Lots of stupid comments on here about Milner not letting Mo Salah take the penalty. Milner is the penalty taker of the team, everyone knows he's a better penalty taker than Mo and the 3 points was not safe yet at that point. I don't see why the best person for the job shouldn't do it
