Former Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli feels his administration deserves some of the credit for their current success. ‘You can see the fruits of our labour.’
The Rossoneri are still top of the Serie A table, even after losing their 27-round unbeaten league record in a 3-1 home defeat to Juventus.
“Stefano Pioli is doing a fantastic job because he hasn’t based it on individual talents, but always having an organised and compact team, all with the same spirit,” Mirabelli told news agency Adnkronos.
Mirabelli was in charge during the 2017-18 season, alongside Marco Fassone, under President Yonghong Li.
“I am happy with what Milan are doing, especially as if you look carefully, half the squad is there because of the work we did.
“I am therefore doubly happy to see the fruits of our labour. However, I do think the current administration have delayed too long in negotiations for contract extensions.”
Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu’s deals are running down this summer.

this guy is joking for sure 🤣 how in earth you extend Donnarumma contract for just 4 years and give him 800% salary raise as he was talking 1m and you sir make it 6m ☹ and now Maldini working on new deal with just 1m plus his 6m salary 👍 also Calhanoglu contract you did make it 4 years and also Romagnoli who extend his contract in your time for 4 seasons instead of 5 🤔 and if you talking about your work just Kessie and Calhanoglu left from your 15 players you brought us in 2017 😩 why you didn't mention Biglia who you buy for 16m when he have just one year left in his contract or Bonucci 40m who end up begging to be sold back to his old team 😕 or Kalinic 25m and Rodriguez 16m and Musacchio 15m and Borini 7m and Donnarumma brother who take 1m as salary just to sit down for 4 years 💩
