Mohamed Salah has provided an update on his contract situation at Liverpool, as he nears the end of his deal.
The 32-year-old has not put pen to paper on a new contract yet, with his current one expiring in summer 2025.
He contributed to Liverpool's 5-0 thrashing of West Ham on Sunday by logging his 17th league goal of the season, as well as providing two assists.
Salah has now made 30 goal contributions in just 18 league games this season, as another stellar performance helped widen the Reds' lead at the top of the table.
After 18 games played, Arne Slot's side lie eight points clear of Nottingham Forest in second with a game in hand, and nine points ahead of Arsenal below.
After Sunday's game, Salah revealed that negotiations are 'far' from positive at this time and insisted that he is solely focused on Liverpool's on-field aims this season.
'No, we are far away from that,' Salah told Sky Sports, when asked if there are any positive updates on the situation.
'I don't want to put something in the media and people start saying stuff, but nothing really [has] moved on.
'But for now I'm focused on the team and hopefully we win the Premier League.
'I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There is a few other teams catching up with us and we need to stay focused and humble and go again.
'I am just trying to enjoy the game. At the end of the day I came here for the result and I wanted to do something in the game, but I am almost hungry for more.'
The Egyptian sent the Reds fanbase into a frenzy last month when he claimed he had not been contacted over a new deal.
Since then, Salah has remained tentative with his words regarding the situation, recently refusing to divulge the current state of negotiations when asked on Boxing Day.
'I want to tell [the fans] Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,' Salah told Amazon Prime on Thursday. 'And I'll see them in the next game here.'

One thing y’all do not understand about players management at Liverpool is this… Imagine Salah is demanding for 600k per week and he’s granted the wish like it’s easily done in other teams, what message is that passing to the other players in the team? They’d start asking for more in no time too and if their wish isn’t granted, they opt to leave or start playing without passion or feeling like one player is more valued than the other You can see the friendship and unity in this Liverpool squad, no ego and no discontent among all players and this is because everyone is treated as equal, nobody is treated more important than the other, this is one of the reasons why Liverpool has been successful lately without breaking the bank in the transfer market Y’all just relax and let them sort things out their own way which is obviously different from how it’s done in other teams

FSG is stingy & stupid not to reach an agreement with Salah . Believe it or not, Salah is the heart of Liverpool FC now !
