Moise Kean joins PSG on a season-long loan after miserable spell at Everton

Everton forward Moise Kean has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan after a miserable spell on Merseyside.

The Italian arrived at Goodison Park during the summer of 2019 from Juventus for a fee of £27.5million and signed a five-year contract.

However, the 20-year-old has scored just four times in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees.

Two of those goals came in the Premier League against Newcastle United and Bournemouth in January and July respectively, before he struck against Salford City and Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup this season.

Kean was infamously hauled off after 19 minutes by caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson at Old Trafford last season and has started just four games since Carlo Ancelotti succeeded Marco Silva as Everton manager in December last year.

The form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is joint-top scorer in the Premier League this season with six goals, means the chances of Kean forcing himself into the starting XI have become even more remote.

Everton top the Premier League after four wins in as many games and will face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in December, with the summer additions of Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez proving particularly useful.

Their stylish brand of football has turned heads as the team have chalked up 12 goals during those victories and the team's next match after the international break is the derby against Liverpool.

Ancelotti's men will no doubt be relishing the prospect of facing the beleaguered Reds after their humiliating 7-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa.

Paris Saint-Germain's attacking armoury includes Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi, and Kean will be looking to rehabilitate his career at the Parc de Princes as the French champions look to win their eighth league crown in nine seasons.

Thomas Tuchel's side may have suffered a possible hangover from their Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich in August as they lost their first two league games of the new campaign against Lens and Marseille, but they have since won four on the bounce and hit Angers for six in their last encounter.
