Monaco defender Axel Disasi outlines his strengths amid potential move to Manchester United

Monaco defender Axel Disasi has outlined his key qualities ahead of a potential move to Manchester United this summer.

The France international centre-back is reportedly close to signing for Erik ten Hag's side and it has been claimed that he has made United aware that he wants the move to take place.

Disasi, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall, believes that his height is a significant advantage, while he stressed that he is also strong in the air and is effective at anticipating danger.

Furthermore, Disasi says that he is effective at playing the ball out from the back.

United are looking to strengthen their defence as they aim to build upon last season's third place finish in the Premier League.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Disasi, 25, said: 'My size is an advantage, I am comfortable in the air and in my sense of anticipation.

'I also try to play the ball out from the back cleanly, to have fun on the pitch and above all to follow the coach's instructions. I'm a player who works for the team and I hope to bring my defensive strength to bear.'

Having previously played for Paris FC, Disasi joined Reims in 2016 before signing for Monaco in 2020.

So far he has played 129 times for Monaco, where he has two years remaining on his current contract.

Disasi has been capped by France at four occasions on senior level and is in Didier Deschamps' current squad.

United are also looking to bolster their attack in this transfer window but have so far been left frustrated in their pursuit of Tottenham's Harry Kane.

Ten Hag's side are pursuing a move for Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund.

20-year-old Hojlund scored ten times for Atalanta last season and has five goals in five games for Denmark.
