More criticisms from Benzema and Mendy's crackdown on Vinicius: He doesn't do anything meaningful

What seemed like a small incident with Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy discussing Vinicius Junior seems to be increasing in significance by the minute, with more footage having come out which shows the two Frenchmen criticising their Real Madrid team-mate.

They were not happy with Vinicius in the first video, which was published by Telefoot, but that was followed by Benzema being a little harsher in his criticism of Vinicius in the second.

"He doesn't do anything meaningful," Benzema said to Mendy just before going out onto the pitch for the second half, as picked up by Gol.

"When he wrinkles [shrinks], he loses his essence," Mendy replied.

This is a private conversation in the tunnel, and for Champions League games there are always cameras here, especially near the Real Madrid dressing room.

Although Benzema has said that the incident has 'gone by', the truth is that a new fire seems to be approaching. What is important is how these images may affect the morale of Vinicius, who is just 20 years old and does not have experience in these types of situations.

In fact, when Vinicius comes onto the pitch ahead of the second half, Benzema and Mendy have a tactical conversation with the Brazilian about the moves they should make in attack.

"He is playing rubbish. Don't pass him the ball bro, on my mum's life," Benzema was caught saying to Mendy by Telefoot. "He is playing against us."

After that conversation at half time, Benzema did not play any passes to Vinicius, and Mendy linked up with him just three times, despite them both being down the left.

The truth is that, in the last two games, Vinicius has not played up to the standard he showed when Los Blancos got their campaign underway, but in his defence it must be said that he is a brave player and never hides.
