Alfredo Morelos has spoken of his desire to move to the Premier League after helping guide Rangers to their first Scottish Premiership title in 10 years.
Despite the Colombian struggling at times in front of goal, the 24-year-old still has a creditable 10 league strikes in 24 games to his name, with team-mates James Tavernier and Kemar Roofe joining him on double figures as Steven Gerrard's side saw off the challenge of Celtic after their rivals drew 0-0 at Dundee United last Sunday.
Morelos has been prolific since arriving at Ibrox in the summer of 2017 and after guiding the Glasgow side to a historic triumph, he told Caracol Radio that he has ambitions to play south of the border.
'There are opportunities now for me because I have won the league in Scotland and we are still in the Europa League,' he revealed.
'If we get through to the next round, we will have the opportunity to play against some very big teams and they will be watching me.
'One of my big dreams is to play in the English Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the world and there are a lot of important players and important teams.
'So if the opportunity presents itself in my career, I am going to take it. It's a style of football very similar to Scottish football and I would enjoy it.'
Gerrard admitted that Morelos' focus had been affected by a failed bid from Lille last summer as Rangers fought hard to keep hold of their star striker, with the man himself also admitting that the noise around a possible transfer did affect him.
'There were many difficulties with Rangers about my departure because proposals came in and the club asked for more money.
'Then the transfer market closed and I spoke with the manager and said that I was going to focus on the team. The situation got back to normal and I started to raise the level of my game.'
Morelos' improvement in 2021 after a slow start to the campaign has been illustrated by seven goals in all competitions since the turn of the year, including both goals in the 2-1 victory at Aberdeen and winners in 1-0 triumphs over Hibernian and most recently Livingston earlier this month.
After tying up the title, Rangers have the chance to progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa League for the first time since 2008 in Europe's second-string competition, as they reached the final before losing to Zenit St Petersburg when it was branded the UEFA Cup.
Their round-of-16 tie is currently on a knife edge, with Gerrard's men drawing 1-1 away at Leicester's conquerors Slavia Prague.
The return leg takes place at Ibrox on Thursday and should they progress, the hosts will go one better than they did last season, as they were dumped out of the competition by Bayer Leverkusen.
