Mason Mount has revealed that the Chelsea staff honoured Christian Pulisic after his hat-trick heroics against Burnley by playing the American national anthem.

Pulisic, 21, became the second ever American to score a Premier League hat-trick and Chelsea made sure they celebrated in style on the journey back home.

Speaking with BBC MOTDx, Mount explained: 'We went from the stadium to the airport so we were on the coach and the first thing that happened was Jody Morris put the American national anthem on. Everyone sat down and that was the first thing that came on.'

Since Frank Lampard's arrival as manager at Stamford Bridge in the summer, the squad seem to have built a very close bond - with many of them coming through the youth ranks at the club together.

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is another young talent who is enjoying his break-out season under Lampard and had some choice words about his FIFA 20 stats, claiming he is faster than one of his team mates despite the computer game saying different.

'I've seen my stats', Tomori told the BBC whilst in attendance at Chelsea's training ground.

'To be fair, I'm not unhappy with it but when I see people I know I'm quicker than are faster than me on the game, that's annoying.

'I'm just going to say it. Callum [Hudson-Odoi]. He is 85 rated pace and I'm 80.'

Mount interjected by backing up Tomori and said: 'I would put Fikayo at the top. He is probably the quickest in our team.
