Chelsea star Mason Mount has revealed that his team-mates have given him a 'battering' over undeserved Player of the Match awards recently.
The England international was given the post-match award after the Blues beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 in their final Champions League group stage match on Wednesday night.
But after the game, Mount suggested that he didn't deserve the trophy and that his midfield partner Denis Zakaria should have been given the award.
Speaking after the match, Mount said: 'We changed the formation a little bit. It allowed me to drift and connect the midfield, and get forward as well. I felt good. It was a nice position for me.
'When I look at a game the negatives stick out in my head, and I gave the ball away too much. That's how I am, that's what I think about after the game, but I did some good bits as well, so I'll take it.
'The lads have been battering me the last couple of games I've got man of the match as they don't think I deserved it, but today I don't think I deserve it!'
Mount was crowned the Player of the Match after Chelsea beat Zagreb despite struggling to make his mark on the game. He wasn't involved in either goal and failed to create any clear cut opportunities for his team.
The England international suggested that, instead, Zakaria should've been given the post-match award after scoring his first goal since joining Chelsea.
'Denis Zakaria came in and was unbelievable. He deserves man of the match more than me, and he scored as well. To step up after not playing, and starting the game, was brilliant.'
The Swiss midfielder made his debut for the Blues on Wednesday and marked his first start with a goal inside half an hour.
The ball rolled to Zakaria inside the Zagreb penalty box and he made no mistake dispatching his effort into the bottom corner despite Dominik Livakovic's best efforts.
Elsewhere in the game, Chelsea and England left-back Ben Chilwell suffered a nasty hamstring injury that has thrown his World Cup dreams into jeopardy.
With the clock ticking down and Chelsea on course for their fourth group stage win, Chilwell went down in stoppage time clutching the back of his left leg.
After receiving treatment, Chilwell had to be helped from the pitch and passed by Mount who asked him what had happened.
When asked if Chilwell is now a doubt for Qatar, Chelsea boss Graham Potter told reporters: 'I think you would have to say so, yeah.'

once Reece James is injured expect Chilwel to follow up. The same thing happened last season around this time of the year. They are twins on the pitch one cannot live without the other.
You’re right and it’s always a big problem for Chelsea
