The United attacker's best position is still being debated, with former manager Jose Mourinho saying he doesn't score enough to be a target man
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has seen his ability to play a centre-forward role come into question yet again.
Rashford's ability to score enough to be United's primary No. 9 has constantly been in question, though, and former manager Jose Mourinho was among those doubting Rashford on Sunday.
"I am not going to say he cannot ever be a number nine, he can be a dangerous number nine especially if the opposition is not pragmatic, is not close and is giving spaces to attack. He can be dangerous in transitions," Mourinho told Sky Sports.
"But when Manchester United is a team that normally plays against teams who go to Old Trafford, close the door, bring the bus, bring the double bus, he is not a striker to play with his back to the goal.
"He is not the target man, he doesn’t score as many goals as a striker should do. So I think from the side you will get him to numbers of 10-12 goals per season.
"He is very professional, he works for the team, he understands what you tell him to do from the defensive point of view.
"Playing from the sides he can be a very good player, probably better than at nine. But he feels he is a number nine and I think the club and the manager feel he is."

Rashford is the most overrated player in the world. He hardly scores, he missing goals opportunities like someone missing their lover . He shouldn’t even be playing soccer. He should change to Tennis 🎾

pls don't allow ur heat for morinho get u blind. hr is a pundit and has told u the truth. if u say he didn't do it well then why is ole failing? ask ur self. Morinho remains one of the best in the word. take it or leave because of ur envy. the work he did for man united, no other coach has do e that after sir Ferguson. so this k well before u talk because ur not a good football follower but an Individual critics. if mourinho didn't do it well, then ur ole should do it well. if care is not taken. man united may go relegation

Jose play him to the side this is the reason but most of the fans,ex players,and English media want him to play at number 9 and Jose has to compromise with their wish. Jose was the right man to lead united ,he already make his statement in preseason of his third season that the squad that he possess was not his squad he want more signing at last he one at least two more signing before the end of transfer market but in vain for all his wish. Man united should thank n respect Jose that in his first season only he put reserve his feet in champion league by winning Europa cup and second season he is in second position in the league ,he was great coach he achieved all the wish of man united with all those bunch of players who are not even fit enough to play for top four position . Jose always said that he has achieved lots with united but all the fans criticized him of his defensive play but I think now they are realising the truth what special one has mention.
