Napoli want to beat Inter Milan to the signing of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Sportsmail revealed on Tuesday that the Red Devils are willing to sell the Belgian, but only if their £80million valuation is met.
La Gazzetta dello Sport now claim that Napoli will make an ambitious bid to land Lukaku ahead of their Serie A rivals.
The Italian newspaper say that Carlo Ancelotti wants to pay around £62m for the former Everton star, which is well below the figure United are looking for.
Lukaku is said to prefer a move to Inter over Napoli, with both clubs able to offer him Champions League football next season.
The ex-Chelsea forward is keen to link up with new boss Antonio Conte at the San Siro as he plans a big summer overhaul of his squad.

It's quite unfortunate that if United intend to sell Lukaku, they will hardly make any profit from the sale. From 75 million + (add-ons amounting to 15 million) =90 million to just 80 million? Anyway, with the subpar performance he's shown this season, in a club where the highest number of goals come from the midfield rather than the attack, I initially didn't see what club seriously looking to bolster their attack this season would even consider buying him at all. Not that Lukaku is a bad player-- United wouldn't have bought him if he didn't show that he had something in him at Everton. Somehow, he's got to rediscover the form that once allowed him to frustrate the likes of Harry Kane when it came to goals. Maybe he will at Inter. But while he has endurance and a physically imposing figure to his advantage, he lacks the technicality, finesse, pace and vision required to complete the quality checklist of any true striker in today's world of fast-paced, attacking football. United need more than just an elephant at the front line.

He is a good striker...He suffered this season because of his excess of weight..
