Netherlands star Memphis Depay has reportedly completed his move from Lyon to Spanish giants Barcelona.

Depay who scored his first goal of Euro 2020 during the Dutch's 2-0 win over Austria,  is expected to join the Catalans on a free transfer as his current deal expires later this month.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano the official announcement could be made as early as this weekend.

Depay is set to become the latest free transfer to arrive at the Nou Camp this summer after former Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia joined the club.

However, Barca boss Ronald Koeman did miss out on signing fellow Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum after he was released by Liverpool, the 30-year-old opted to join Paris Saint-Germain on a three year deal instead.

Barca have been forced into targeting players available on free transfers due to the financial impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on the club.

Depay joined Manchester United for Β£31 million from PSV Eindhoven in 2015, but struggled during his time at Old Trafford scoring just two goals in 33 Premier League appearances.

He moved to Lyon in January 2017 and gradually rebuilt his career in France.

The 27-year-old scored an impressive 20 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances as Lyon finished fourth last season.

Depay should be back in action for the Netherlands when they host North Macedonia at the Amsterdam Arena in their final group game on Monday.
