Manuel Neuer has backed Jurgen Klopp to become Bayern Munich manager in the future after it was announced he would leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
Klopp revealed last week that he would leave Anfield this summer after a successful nine-year spell that brought the club Premier League and Champions League glory.
Citing fatigue and a desire to return to a 'normal life', the 56-year-old is set to take a sabbatical once he officially leaves his role despite immediate interest from clubs.
Before moving to Merseyside, Klopp began his coaching career in charge of Mainz and then took up the reins at Borussia Dortmund, Bayern's fierce Bundesliga rivals.
But despite the history between both clubs, long-standing Bayern goalkeeper Neuer believes Klopp may be in contention for the hot seat at the Allianz Arena.
'I think it depends on him [Klopp],' Neuer said, via Bild.
'I don't think Bayern has anything against that, because he's a renowned, very good, experienced, tactically astute coach who has gained big respect from all footballers.
'I believe that he's definitely a potential candidate who could work for Bayern at some point. Whether he wants to do that is of course his business.
'Maybe he wants to take a break first. Maybe he no longer wants the day-to-day business – I can imagine him possibly being the national team coach one day.
'Of course, that mainly depends on him.'
Thomas Tuchel is currently at the helm of Bayern but is seemingly under increasing pressure with his side trailing league leaders Bayer Leverkusen by two points.
It is not known where Klopp will manage next, though he has vowed never to coach another team in England for the rest of his career out of loyalty to Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Klopp has insisted that the Reds are a stable club and hit back at suggestions they may face a tricky period off the pitch at the end of the campaign.
Asked if the squad could break up too quickly after Virgil van Dijk refused to commit his future, the coach said: 'No, I don't think so. It is completely normal.
'It was always clear the outside world would not give you a second to process it (the news that Klopp is leaving).
'A week ago when no one knew about my decision, nobody asked (about contracts) Give the boys a break!
'We need to create a perspective about what's happening next, that's normal.
'Nobody has to worry. I knew that this would happen. You (the media) can't wait for these kinds of questions. Virg didn't go out and say, "By the way, I wanna say…".
'Write what you want, this club is stable. 100 per cent. Everything will be fine, I am 100 per cent sure. The rest, we have to get through this, we have to get through your questions and give some answers.
'For our people, I would recommend… stay calm.'

Tuchel is a good manager but he did not struggle in other club. In Bayern he is struggling. Klopp will never go to Bayern but as Germany coach maybe.
