Neville & Carragher pick 5-aside team... but argue over Keane & Gerrard

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher had the tricky task of naming their ultimate ever five-aside team.

The former Manchester United and Liverpool defenders very much enjoy a bit of friendly rivalry on Monday Night Football, and their roots continued to shine through when it came to naming the joint team.

Inevitably, Carragher and Neville's side weas made up of just United and Liverpool stars but there was one name on the teamsheet that just couldn't be decided.

When quizzed on who they would choose alongside them both in their team, Neville answered: 'I'll go (Peter) Schmeichel, (Roy) Keane and (Cristiano) Ronaldo, for me.'

Carragher did agree with the inclusions of Schmeichel and Ronaldo but found trouble with the idea of Keane, arguing that his former captain Steven Gerrard deserved a spot.

The former Reds centre back replied: 'It's only can you get Stevie (Gerrard) in, isn't it.'

And their friendly rivalry didn't stop there, with Neville putting up a fight: 'You have to drop Roy Keane for Steven Gerrard, though.'

However, Carragher wasn't having any of it and brought up Gerrard's success in the Champions League, claiming: 'He won a European Cup on his own.

We'll get Stevie in. That's three Man United, two Liverpool, you can't complain with that.'
