Salomon Rondon starred as Newcastle earned a valuable three points to defeat Huddersfield at St James' Park.
After a frustrating first-half for the Magpies, in which Terriers captain Tommy Smith was dismissed, Rondon struck on 46 minutes before nodding the ball into Ayoze Perez's path for the second.
The morale-boosting victory sends Newcastle four points clear of the drop zone, while Huddersfield are 14 points adrift at the foot of the Premier League.

Great win for us. Almiron was class, Perez and Rondon putting in an absolute shift up front as usual. Mad that our 4th and 5th choice CMs at the start of the season look absolutely undroppable. Massive game against an inform Burnley mid week, would take a point now tbh. Hoping we can grind our way out of the relegation battle next few games.
