Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar is a target for AC Milan and Newcastle.

Foot Mercato says AC Milan are set to enter another transfer battle with Newcastle. A prolonged saga involving Sven Botman saw the two clubs tussle for the Dutch centre-back.

The Magpies ultimately came out on top but that has not fazed the Italian giants from challenging in the market again. Aouar, despite being valued at £25million, is available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

A former teammate of Bruno Guimaraes, Aouar has been in and out of the Ligue 1 club's side in 2022-23.

Milan are already in preliminary talks with the 24-year-old while Newcastle must decide whether to make a move in January or next summer.
