Newcastle United are exploring a pre-season trip to the United States this summer.
Sportsmail understands Minnesota is one destination being considered for a training camp and friendly matches.
Eddie Howe has already taken his squad to Saudi Arabia and Dubai this year, although both destinations would be too hot in July.
The US is said to be the preferred choice at present and options are being looked into before plans are finalised.
There are also commercial benefits of an American tour, with the club’s new Saudi-backed owners working to increase revenues across all departments.
Howe is also keen to foster team spirit with foreign getaways and, following January’s trip to Jeddah during which they met the Saudi owners, they returned to win five of their next six matches.
It is likely the team will return to Saudi at the end of the year, around the time of the World Cup in Qatar.
Newcastle last toured the States in 2015 under new boss Steve McClaren, playing games in Sacramento and Portland.
However, they were relegated that season and McClaren was sacked in March.
