Newcastle have won once in THIRTY SIX trips to Old Trafford

Manchester United and Newcastle are both in desperate need of three points on Saturday but all the omens point to a win for the home side.

Newcastle have a dreadful record at Old Trafford with the North-East side winning just once in their last 36 league visits to United.

That victory came during David Moyes' ill-fated reign when Yohan Cabaye scored in the 61st minute on December 7, 2013 to ensure Newcastle claimed their first league win there since 1972.

Newcastle, who beat United 1-0 at St James' Park in February, have not won back-to-back games against the Red Devils in 46 years.

During his time at both Chelsea and Manchester United, Mourinho has won all six home games against Newcastle in the Premier League with an incredible goal difference of +16.

United hit four goals past Newcastle at home last November with Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku all getting on the scoresheet after Dwight Gayle netted an opener.

Mourinho will be hoping for a similar scoreline to silence his doubters ahead of the international break.

Despite United's poor form, the Old Trafford board remain fully behind the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager.
