Maurizio Sarri has overseen a perfect start to the season as Blues boss, while Rafa Benitez and his side have just one point to show for their efforts

Chelsea will head to Newcastle on Sunday seeking to record a third successive Premier League victory under new boss Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues proved too strong for Huddersfield on the opening weekend, before edging out London rivals Arsenal in an entertaining derby at Stamford Bridge last time out.

Alvaro Morata was among the goals in that contest, providing a welcome boost to his confidence, while talismanic playmaker Eden Hazard has been impressing off the bench.

Rafa Benitez is now charged with the task of trying to contain the Belgian, with the Magpies returning to St James’ Park having taken one point from meetings with Tottenham and Cardiff.

TV Channel, Live Stream & How To Watch

In the United States (US), the game will be shown on NBC Sports and streamed on the NBC Sports app.

In the United Kingdom (UK), the game can be watched live on Sky Sports Main Event and streamed through the Sky Go App.

Squads & Team News

Kenedy has avoided retrospective action for his kick on Victor Camarasa in the 0-0 draw with Cardiff last weekend, but is still out of the match against Chelsea due to the terms of his loan deal.

Isaac Hayden is suspended for three games after his tackle was deemed to have been dangerous in the same meeting with the Bluebirds, while the Magpies have further absentees in defence with Florian Lejeune sidelined with a long-term knee injury.

DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo are minor doubts but are battling to prove their fitness.

Potential Newcastle XI: Dubravka; Yedlin, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett; Ritchie, Shelvey, Diame, Murphy; Perez; Rondon.

Cesc Fabregas is still a major doubt as he recovers from what Sarri describes as an "unusual injury" just below his knee.

Tammy Abraham is also nursing a knock but is unlikely to feature anyway, amid rumours of Aston Villa being interested in securing him on loan and with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud ahead of him in the pecking order.

PSV loan star Marco van Ginkel is back at Chelsea, but has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and is unlikely to play any part this season.

Potential Chelsea XI: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Barkley; Pedro, Hazard; Morata.

Betting & Match Odds

Chelsea are considered to be firm favourites to emerge victorious, with bet365 pricing them at 7/10 to take all three points. Hosts Newcastle are considered to be 17/4 shots, with a draw available at 3/1.

Match Preview

Chelsea have grown accustomed to welcoming in new eras over recent years, with Sarri the latest manager to have been charged with the task of delivering success to the west London outfit.

The Italian has made a positive start to that challenge and will feel that there is still more to come from his side as they adapt to his methods.

Big-money summer signings Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga should be starting to feel more at home in Premier League surroundings, while Hazard is straining at the leash on the back of his World Cup efforts with Belgium.

At Newcastle, Benitez was able to enjoy a busy end to the summer transfer window, but he is still piecing together plans with a new-look squad.

The Magpies were reduced to 10 men in their last outing, as they were held to a goalless draw by Cardiff, while Spurs edged them out on the opening weekend in front of an expectant home support.

With just one goal to their name so far, the Tyneside outfit will be aware that they need to find an attacking spark from somewhere if they are to push for another top-half finish in 2018-19.
