Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has spoken in an extensive interview to Fox Sports, touching, once again, on his reasons for leaving Barcelona.
Neymar left for PSG in 2017 in a world record 222 million euro deal, although he admitted he had doubts until the very last minute. But his thirst for a new challenge helped the French side lands him.
In the interview, Neymar explained that "it was about looking for something new, to find new difficulties. Barcelona are a club that I'm in love with, even today. I still talk to my former teammates, but I felt at that time that I was looking for something more difficult."
However, the Brazil international, who has suffered several injuries in Paris, also admitted it was not an easy decision.
He added: "It was really tough. There were moments when I had doubts and I thought about staying. 'I'm not going,' I was saying. I was like that for two weeks before deciding to go to Paris."

looking for more difficulties you left Barcelona for the farmers league? to the best of my knowledge, Barcelona training is one of the hardest in the world and their philosophies is one of the most difficult to understand, great players have come to barca but failed to adapt to this philosophies, Zlatan, Alex Song, Alex Sanchez to mention but few, its more than obvious now that you regret you left, your case can be likened to an apprentice who signed a 5years deal to learn a job but in his curiosity to become his own boss, he left after two years to start his own biz, unfortunately after a year or there about he suddenly realized he shouldn't have left earlier as he left many things unlearned.

But the two went to the best clubs who are champions but needed UCL trophy. He wanted to make a name for himself at PSG. competition is good. , infact it should even be encouraged at at every level at all cost especially with the best. But you can't compete with a player of Messi's calibre because Messi is not the best, but the Greatest Of All Time. The best you can do when you're playing with a player like Messi in the same team is to wait for your time when age catches up with him. Messi was not in a hurry to prove a point at Barcelona. He waited patiently because he knew that his time would come. Neymar, there's nothing you could have done to displace Messi then, now and in the foreseeable future. until he retires. Patience pays and it's a virtue, but pride goes before a fall or a thud.

Neymar had already won everything at Barcelona in such a short time, people think he was trying to get out of Messi's shadow but he simply got tired of getting everything so easily champions league, the best club competition in the world, and he won it so easily. A treble in 2015? It's what you expect from Barcelona, but it still surprises everyone. Some players want to play football, and some want to have fun playing it because when someone is on your tail and can take titles from you by a single mistake is what makes this sport beautiful. Titles aren't supposed to be guaranteed, like they are at Barcelona, they're fought for, with blood sweat and dedication, while I'm not saying Barcelona don't have that, I mean they win so much, but it's just too easy for them.
