Nice made a late offer for Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris to replace Kasper Schmeichel

French club Nice made a late offer for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after they ripped up Kasper Schmeichel's contract.

The Danish keeper has now become a free agent as Nice cancelled his contract.

On deadline day, Lloris was offered a late move to Premier League club Newcastle, as well as being approached by Nice.

As a result, Lloris has stayed in North London to fight for his place between the sticks, despite Guglielmo Vicario starting the season as Ange Postecoglou's No 1 goalkeeper.
