Phil Foden has responded to the first red card of his senior career by saying it was 'not how I wanted the game to end.'
Foden was given a rare start for Manchester City in the Champions League clash with Atalanta at the Etihad, and showed Pep Guardiola why fans and pundits are so keen to see him given more playing time.
Responding to the red card, Foden took to Instagram to express his disappointment, and praise his teammates for their performance.
He posted: "Not how I wanted the game to end personally, but overall very happy with the performance from all of us. Raz [Sterling] is on a roll and the support was top class."
